Biological filter with integrated UVC unit, suitable for ponds up to 10.000 litres.
The water enters the filter through the inlet. It then flows past the 11 watt UVC unit, thus reducing algae growth while at the same time destroying harmful bacteria.
After the UVC unit, the Matala progressive filter mats are placed one behind the other in the filter, from coarse to fine. In this way, fish waste and floating debris are easily and effectively trapped and filtered out of the water.
The last compartment holds the cassette with the substrate mix. This mixed substrate guarantees a high level of biological activity in the filter, while at the same time absorbing harmfull substances and reducing offensive odours.
The water then flows back into the pond via the outlet. By means of the sludge discharge (silt trap under the inlet) the trapped waste and debris can easily be drained off.

Choosing the right pump.
It is important to remember that a pump's rate of flow diminishes in direct proportion to the height difference that the water has to overcome. The first step when choosing a pump is therefore to consider the difference in height between the water surface of your pond and the place where the filter is located.
